You’re Doing So Much for Everyone...

Now It’s Time to Care for You.

Bilingual therapy specializing in EMDR for birth trauma, postpartum and couples therapy, and immigration evaluations—helping you heal, reconnect, and move forward with confidence.

Hi, I’m Norma Martinez, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | San Diego, CA

I’m a bilingual therapist, a wife, and a mom of two—one boy and one girl—doing my best to balance the beautiful chaos of motherhood and meaningful work. I know firsthand how hard that balance can be, because after the birth of my first child, I experienced postpartum anxiety.

Even as a therapist, I was caught off guard. I had learned about postpartum depression, but no one had prepared me for the overwhelming anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and constant worry that came with new motherhood. I felt lost, misunderstood, and alone. That experience lit a fire in me—I knew other women were feeling the same way, and they deserved better support.

That’s when I decided to specialize in maternal mental health. Through my own healing, I came to understand that caring for ourselves isn’t about putting ourselves first—it’s about saying “me too” and knowing we don’t have to do it all alone.

In my work, I combine personal experience with clinical expertise to support mothers, couples, and families navigating postpartum, early parenting, birth trauma, and immigration stressors. I offer EMDR therapy, couples counseling for new and expecting parents, and bilingual immigration evaluations with care, compassion, and cultural understanding.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me running, working out, exploring new coffee shops, or planning our next family trip. I cherish every moment I get to spend with my little family—and I want the same joy, peace, and connection for you, too.

I support mothers and couples because I’ve lived through the overwhelm, the silence, and the “no one prepared me for this” moments.

My value lies in showing up with empathy, expertise, and advocacy—so you don’t have to do it alone.

Outside of my work, I love being outdoors, especially going on hikes. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and coffee shops. I’m honored to support others in their healing and growth, one step at a time!
